Have fun learning to play music!

Start learning piano and you can do it for months or years or all your life.

I believe playing music is central to being a person, and it will make you happy when you learn some pieces and get better over time! It is a lot of fun and intellectually stimulating too, and the possibilities are endless what you can do with it. There are so many styles of music you can play, and with the piano they are all open to you!!!

I have taught hundreds of students of all ages with diverse levels of musical ability and interests. When I was growing up my mother had me take lessons- and I was not allowed to quit! I didn’t really want to anyway, : ) Well now look at me- I learned classical piano, and played piano for choruses, I played in the high school bands, and jazz bands, rock bands, I studied electronic music. Later on in life I started on the guitar and I play and teach that as well. Now I am practicing singing everyday, and maybe I’ll lead a band soon, who knows, but the point is you can keep expanding and keep trying new things and it will change with you as you get older.

There are so many things you can do, it’s all up to you once you have learned some musical skills. If you like to sing you can learn to play chords to accompany yourself. You can learn to read music. You can write your own songs. You can do lessons along with you friends and grow up with it together. You can play for recitals, or learn songs you hear on a movie or hits you hear on the radio or streaming service, or play folk songs from the past, learn rich, complex and diverse musical styles and traditions. It can keep you emotionally healthy and is a great antidote to the demands of these times we are in, and I say that with all sincerity. Thank God for music, as one of my current students said to me just yesterday.

Please try some lessons! You’ll be very glad you did!

My rates are reasonable and I have a lot of experience teaching right here in Needham, maybe you know some of my students. Check out my testimonials to see what people think. I can’t wait to meet you, and I welcome the opportunity to make music an enjoyable journey for you.
